Barb joined Williams Capital Corporation in December 2014 and has over 25 years of experience in accounting and income taxes. Barb also continues to teach at Corning Community College (CCC) and is currently a Professor of Accounting and Chair of the Business Administration and Accounting Departments. Prior to joining the firm, she gained experience in corporate accounting and public accounting to include financial statement preparation, audits of corporations, not-for-profits and local governments; and tax accounting with experience with individuals, sole proprietorships, corporations, partnerships and trusts. Barb’s mission is to provide quality services to individuals and businesses that need assistance or direction with accounting, income tax planning, entity design, accounting system setup and/or tax preparation.
Barb earned her A.S. in Business Administration from Corning Community College in 1986, a B.S. in Accounting from Elmira College in 1988 and a M.S. in Adult Education from Elmira College in 1997. She also passed all 3 parts of the IRS Special Enrollment Exam on her first sitting to become an Enrolled Agent (EA) in 2012. This designation is the highest credential awarded by the IRS. It allows Barb unlimited practice rights, nationwide, to represent clients before the IRS. In 2013, she was awarded the State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Barb is a 1985 graduate of Elmira Southside High School and resides in Elmira. In her free time, she enjoys reading, including new tax laws, and travel. She has visited all 50 states of the U.S. She is active in her church and local community through board positions and enjoys getting involved in hands on missions.
