Founder

Bob founded Williams Capital Corporation in 1972 and served the community for 44 years before announcing his retirement in July of 2016. He continues to consult with and advise staff and clients on a more limited basis. It is a privilege and a pleasure to continue drawing on his wealth of knowledge and experience as well as hear his laugh and be entertained by his great sense of humor. 

Bob received his A.S. from Corning Community College in 1957, his B.S. from Mansfield University in 1960 and his M.S. in Economics from Emporia State University in 1967. He has held his FINRA Series 24 (General Securities Principal), Series 7 (General Securities), Series 22 (Direct Participation Programs Limited Representative), Series 51 (Municipal Fund Securities Limited Principal), Series 63 (Uniform Securities State Law) and Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law) licenses. Bob is a Licensed Insurance Agent for Life, Disability & Long-Term Care Insurances and received his Long-Term Care Professional (LTCP) certification. He is a Certified Estate, Business & Financial Analyst, Public Accountant and Enrolled Agent (EA); this designation is the highest credential awarded by the IRS. It allows Bob unlimited practice rights, nationwide, to represent clients before the IRS. He is also a Commercial & Residential Real Estate Operator. 

Bob was born and raised in Elmira, NY and is a familiar face in the community. Bob and his wife Sharon have been married over 50 years and have two children, Lynn and Marc, and two grandchildren, Riley and Ryan. Bob continues to be involved with many community activities. Since retiring, Bob enjoys going to the gym daily, spending time at Seneca Lake, driving his golf cart and always has his nose in a book. He aspires to become a cultural anthropologist.
